Meet Alex Field and Judith Schwartz, owners of Laila Rowe. Alex Field is a jewelry designer and co-owner of Laila Rowe jewelry stores. Her knack for spotting trends and making them wearable for the average American woman has made Laila Rowe the accessory store of choice for fashionistas on a budget. The accessory business is in Alex's blood as both of her parents had accessory companies in her native Australia. While studying at Sydney University in Australia, the desire to broaden her horizons caused Alex to explore London. During a year abroad, she worked and lived among an eclectic collection of people. Her love of Europe impressed upon her a refined knowledge of fashion and style. In 2003, Alex along with her business partner and fellow jewelry designer Judith Schwartz opened an accessory store in Manhattan that they named Laila Rowe. Today, they have 22 retail stores in the United States as well as a retail website (www.lailarowe.com). The company has captivated many fashionable clients and a loyal following. The main objectives for each and every collection are innovative design, quality materials, versatility and excellent price points. Judith Schwartz is a jewelry collector and designer and the other half of Laila Rowe. Her tremendous personal jewelry collection provides a reference library for her to draw inspirations for some of Laila Rowe jewelry designs. Judith was born in Bronx, New York and majored in jewelry design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Soon after, she hit the craft fair circuit in NYC selling her handmade jewelry and later opened her own jewelry store. It was around that time that Judith met Alex and the two forged a friendship and later created the Laila Rowe empire together. Judith's style is derived from her years as an East Village artist and is eclectic with a strong antique and Bohemian influence. Her 23 years of experience in the jewelry business gives her the discerning eye to brings a kaleidoscope of color, form and texture to Laila Rowe consumers. Alex and Judith have 37 years of combined experience in the accessory business and each bring their unique personal style to Laila Rowe.
